Another of the Calgary Zoo’s residents has fallen on bad times. Apparently, a young female capybara got pinned in a door and died from the injury. This follows a long line of incidents at the Zoo. The bad luck incidents are as follows: a gorillla was found with a knife accidently left in its compound, the death of 41 stingrays due to human error, a Turkmenian goat that got caught up in a rope that was left in its enclosure as a toy, a young elephant died of herpes, a hippo that died 1 day after arriving at the zoo, and 4 gorillas that died over a span of 12 months. Zoocheck Canada is requesting an external investigation.
