Black pets get more overlooked when up for adoption. More often, people are looking for a breed or a coat type and mostly and animal that’s compatible with their family. The Winnipeg Human Society believes that what is referred to as “black-dog syndrome” is due to “superstitions” and “deep-seated beliefs in society” that suggest darker-coloured animals have more negative qualities.
