Most people only have the vaguest idea as to how livestock is raised and produced before it reaches the meat aisle in their local grocery store. Becoming involved in how and where you get your meat is far more ethical and responsible than not eating meat at all. The best way to protect a resource is to value and utilize it – if you are not a participant in nature, then you are nothing more than a spectator watching from a distance.
